FAQs

What does each EGA keeper receive with registration?
Along with expert training that includes one-on-one guidance, campers receive the following:

  • Elite Academy Squad Camp: Elite Academy Squad polo shirt, t-shirt, a pair of EGA gloves, evening meals, water bottle
  • Academy Squad Camp: t-shirt, soccer ball, water bottle
  • Development Squad Camp: t-shirt, soccer ball, water bottle

Is a physical exam required to attend EGA?
EGA does not require a physical exam but each camper must be healthy and have a medical wavier form signed by a parent or guardian.

What happens if my child is injured or gets sick during EGA camp?
In the event that a participant gets hurt or sick during camp, the Academy Director will contact a parent or guardian to inform them of the specific illness or injury. Minor injuries may be treated at the site (blisters, twisted ankles, etc.).

Do you offer any discounts?
EGA does offer a siblings discount for those families who have more than one keeper attending. There are also scholarships available for those families who are experiencing difficult times in this tough economy. That funding is offered through the Maggie Campbell Memorial Scholarships. In 2009 to 2012, over $2,900 was raised through various sponsors and donors, which resulted in several full scholarships and several half-scholarships.

Do participants receive an evaluation?
Each keeper is constantly being evaluated during the training. The coaches consistently give one-on-one feedback and constructive criticism in a positive environment throughout the training.

What is the coach-to-child ratio?
The coach to keeper ratio is approximately 1 coach for every 12 keepers.

How can I reach my child during EGA, if needed?
The Academy Director is on-site the entire camp. Parents can contact him if there is a message or need to talk with a keeper.

What should my child bring to EGA?
Each keeper should bring cleats, shin guards, gloves, water bottle, sunscreen and healthy snacks.

Are parents allowed to stay and watch?
Parents are encouraged to stay and watch but it is not required. There is a nice awards ceremony during the last hour of camp and parents should attend. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

What is the refund policy?
In the event that you have to cancel your registration and do so before June 1, the entire fee is refunded. If you cancel after June 1, only half of the fee will be reimbursed. However, the remaining half could be applied to the camp fees for the next year’s session.

My daughter Audrey attended the 2010 Elite Goalkeeping Academy and had a wonderful experience. I just can't say enough good things about the camp and the impression it had on her. Certainly she learned a lot of goalkeeping skills, but the camp also built up her confidence in general. The coaches really took a personal interest in the kids and made them each feel special. Audrey's already asked to attend next year.
